Although Whistle by Flo Rida, from his studio album Wild Ones, makes a successful dance tune, the lyrics are too simplistic. The calming effect of whistling in the background was a nice touch at first but it becomes annoying after the second chorus. It goes on and on you wonder when it ends.
The sexual connotation of the lyrics does not help the song. It gives a rather nasty visual that will refuse to go away hours after you listen to the song. The overall tune gives a chilled out vibe but once Flo Rida starts singing, or worse rapping, you suddenly tense up. So despite the passable beat, in the end, the song makes you want to wash your ears as soon as possible.
