Call Me Maybe, from the album Curiosity, shot Carly Rae Jepsen to fame. Unfortunately, the catchy tune has become a plague and you cannot seem to pass an hour without hearing it somewhere. The song in itself is not that bad, but after 20th time, you feel like tearing off your ears just to make it stop.
The well enunciated lyrics and simple beat makes it a mass hit that gave birth to hundreds, even thousands of covers with singers ranging from toddlers to old men. It’s an easy song to be annoyed with but admittedly, it does stick you, no matter how hard you fight it. You find yourself humming the song in your head, weeks after you get exposed to it. You can either drown yourself with Beethoven or pray that the next great Last Song Syndrome worthy song arrives sooner.
Just in case you desperately need to get this out of your head, call me maybe. Yeah, I know, it was worth a try.
